When the climate is warm and sticky, nothing beats a frozen margarita — particularly one that’s a bit distinctive out of your trendy lime-flavored drink. we currently found out of a brand new margarita recipe that places kiwis front and middle, and my margarita-loving coronary heart virtually had to strive it.

This frozen kiwi margarita recipe is courtesy of zespri sungold kiwifruit and chef stephen barry. in conjunction with the kiwi, you’ll also need tequila, cointreau, lime juice and grenadine syrup to blend up this frozen drink.

Even as it calls for 2 zespri sungold kiwis, you could use any type of kiwi if you can’t discover the sungolds at your neighborhood keep.

Zespri claims the sungold kiwis are sweeter than inexperienced kiwis and taste like a pass among a mango and a strawberry, so understand that the taste you get from the margarita may additionally vary relying at the form of kiwi you use.

The flavor will also differ depending on the brand of tequila you use and if you use Cointreau or a different orange-flavored liqueur. I used Cointreau and my favorite tequila, Altos 100% agave. I also used the SunGold kiwis.

Whilst it’s a piece more complex than a popular on-the-rocks margarita because you need to combo collectively a selection of components, it’s worth the attempt. the kiwi enhances the orange flavor from the cointreau and the clean lime juice and grenadine, supplying you with more than one flavors all on the identical time.

It tastes like a mixed-fruit margarita, with subtle hints of fruity flavors. And as a bonus, it’s pink!
